Many small businesses overlook the importance of a Marketing Plan because they don’t have the time or experience to know where to start. Marketing helps to attract and retain your customers and without them, you have no business.
A good marketing plan can help you reach your target audience, boost your customer base, and ultimately, increase your bottom line. It will help you set clear, realistic goals and identify the objectives, strategies, and tactics to reach and measure those goals. But one of the biggest and most immediate benefits of preparing a marketing plan is that simply by working through the planning process you will identify and focus on important factors related to your business.
CLIENT: TALLGIRLS
One of the issues online retailer Tallgirls.co.uk identified was that customers wanted to try on the garments from the Tallgirls website in a shop. To meet this need I organised and promoted a series of Pop Up Shops for the brand. I collaborated with a blogger who also invited her followers to the events. For this Pop Up Shops I created the concept of the #TALLGIRLSQUAD and THE TALL WALL banners which encouraged visitors to take pictures of themselves against the backdrop and post on social media, which in turn generated traffic from social media sites and content for the client blog and website.
Another of the issues Tallgirls faced was although customers enjoyed seeing the clothing on professional models but also wanted to see the clothing on 'real' women. The concept of the #TALLGIRLSQUAD became so popular that I launched a competition to encourage Tallgirls customers to take pictures of themselves in Tallgirls clothing and post it on social media with the #TALLGIRLSQUAD - this initiative generated more engagement on social media and provided content of 'real' women for the Tallgirls website.
BLOGGER COLLABORATION
I collaborated with Tall Guides Magazine, the world’s fastest growing magazine for tall women, to hold events at the pop up shops. We invited readers to our styling events, and Mimosas with mini makeovers. The collaboration helped develop a real bond between customers, client and magazine - and further develop the #TALLGIRLSQUAD branding.
